Art belongs everywhere
Community Partners
At ConTempo Studios, we believe art is a human right. Everyone deserves the chance to experience live music, performance, and the arts. It should not just be available to people who can easily get to a concert hall.
We take our performances into the community and meet people where they are.
These performances are very much in the ConTempo spirit because we provide a little bit of everything. Classical music, opera, poetry, dance, and more come together to create an experience meant to be shared. More than anything, these concerts give us a chance to gather, connect, and make art together.
Through our community partnerships, we bring live, interdisciplinary performances to people who may not otherwise have the opportunity to experience them.
Four performances each year
Houston Children’s Hospital
We donate four performances each year at Houston Children’s Hospital, bringing live music directly to the children and families spending time in the infusion room. These concerts offer a little joy and distraction in a difficult setting, while also introducing young audiences to the incredible artists and art happening right here in Houston.
A monthly concert
Ecclesia Houston
Once a month, ConTempo partners with Ecclesia Houston to bring an hour-long interdisciplinary concert to the unhoused community and our neighbors experiencing housing transition.
Art in the middle of the day
Houston Methodist Hospital
We also bring ConTempo to Houston Methodist Hospital, performing in the lobby of the Dunn Tower. These concerts feature encore performances from our larger variety shows, bringing together instrumentalists, singers, visual art, and dance. It’s a chance for patients, families, visitors, and hospital staff to experience the kind of interdisciplinary performance ConTempo is known for right in the middle of their day.
Shared moments
What Our Community Says
I didn’t think I liked opera, but hearing it live, I love it!
I rarely ever see members of this community relax, but the music allowed them to close their eyes and just enjoy.
I had no idea we had all of this incredible talent in Houston!
